Brightleaf Square Concert Series

Summer is a great time for free outdoor
entertainment in Durham.  A time when all
you need to enjoy great live music or free movies is a blanket or a couple of
lawn chairs.  As usual, Durham has
something for everyone, and music lovers can find jazz, pop, rock, soul, and more.

The Brightleaf Square Concert
Series
 is a popular free outdoor music series, drawing curious onlookers,
shoppers, and music lovers into the brick-lined district. There are food
and drink vendors on site.  Brightleaf

Transit
The Streets at Southpoint is an
award-winning shopping mall in Durham, North Carolina. 
Their Music on Main music series is free, outdoors, and near
hundreds of places to shop, eat, and be entertained.  Live Music Each
Saturday at Cinema Stage from 6-9pm at the Music on Main Concert Series.  June 18 features Big Ron Hunter and June 25
The Castaways perform.  The feature new
performances every Saturday through September 3, 2016.
Back Porch Music on the Lawn at
American Tobacco
 is holding five more outdoor concerts this summer (presented
by Mercedees-Bends of Durham) in the American Tobacco Amphitheater,
next to the Lucky Strike Water Tower. Picnics and coolers are welcome at these

Each Friday in July, the Durham
Central Park hosts The Warehouse Blues Series from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm.  All are free and also boast food trucks and
craft beer.

Durham Parks and Recreation also
offers a summer series that includes movies in the beautiful setting of Durham
Central Park
at 502 Foster Street.   Sit back, relax and enjoy family and friends while you watch a
movie on a big screen. Movies are free and open to the public. Food
vendors will be on site and food will be available for purchase.  Please bring blankets and lawn chairs. No
alcohol or smoking allowed.
